New York Vacation Rentals in the Great Sacandaga Lake Area

If you want a vacation rental in the Great Sacandaga Lake area, you’re probably ready for a relaxing vacation spent admiring mountains and lakes - with a hearty side of outdoor activities.  Given the length and breadth of this reservoir-turned-lake, your enthusiasm for water sports can certainly be slaked here.

Tucked into the wilds of upstate New York’s Adirondack Park, Great Sacandaga Lake was originally a river.  In time, the valley where the lake now resides was dammed to control area flooding.  The result?  A 29-mile-long expanse of clear, cold water that just beckons to be used for boating, swimming, and fishing.

Great Sacandaga Lake occupies part of three counties: Fulton, Saratoga, and Hamilton.  There are four towns that touch the shores of the lake.  These are Broadalbin (on the southern shores), Mayfield (on the southwestern corner of the lake), Edinburg (to the north) and Northville (on the north fork of the lake).  Note: Don’t get Great Sacandaga Lake confused with another, much smaller Adirondacks lake, Sacandaga Lake.
