This is a very unique vacation rental. This cabin also features a pool room for family fun, TV with DVD player, wood burning stove, outdoor screened sitting room and deck. Large cabin sleeps up to 10 people comfortably.

In addition, on the same 9 acre waterfront site, there is a seasonal original 3 cabin "Adirondack Guider`s Camp". 2 of the cabins are for living/sleeping and each have 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and enclosed screened porch. The third cabin is a "cookhouse" with a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy eating area and a comfortable relaxation area with wood burning stove, sofa, armchairs, TV with DVD player.

Guider`s Camps such as this are a rarity in the Adirondack Park. Originally built in the 1920`s and historically known as "Garby`s Cabins", the camp has recently been completely renovated by local craftsmen and offers a wonderfully authentic Adirondack vacation experience. Guiders camp sleeps 8.

The whole site is cradled by woodland and tall pines, offering extreme privacy. Loons, otters, bald eagle and the occasional moose can all be seen from the private dock. Look skyward for clear views of the Milky Way and magical Northern Lights.

What Past Guests Are Saying

  • Nancy Keller
A Wonderful Place! Left on 09-09-2013

Just wanted to say what a wonderful time the Forney/Keller Clan had here at Garby Camp this past July. The house and the view are just beautiful ... The cabins are rustic, but very comfortable. Everything you need is already there... pots and pans, dishes, free firewood, rowboat (which we used with our trolling motor), canoe, kayaks....etc. The kitchen facilities were great for cooking, and there was enough of everything, even for our large group. Also the grill outside was plenty big enough for our group. The owners were easy to work with, and even though we were without power the first 2 days (due to a storm the night before we arrived) they were right on top of things, making sure that we had what we needed. There were 15 in our group and there was plenty of sleeping space for us all. If I had to give one negative ... the only thing I can think of, is that the mattresses on the beds could be upgraded. They were a little saggy and you did end up rolling to the middle of the mattress each night. But we were always so tired by the time we went to sleep that it did not bother us too much. Garby Camp had plenty to do right on site, we were never bored ... horseshoes, kayaking, fishing, swimming, bonfires ...etc. We caught fish every day and kayaked out to the Deer River Flow quite a few times... It was SO beautiful out there in the flow!! ... gorgeous views no matter which way you turned! There are also many things to see and do just a short car ride away. I would wake up every morning to watch the River Otters playing right near the dock, and fall asleep at night to the sound of the waterfall behind the cabin and the call of the Loons. I can't say enough good things about Garby Camp. If you ever want to get away to a beautiful and peaceful place, where you can enjoy nature and the company of your family… give it a try.
