Whiteface Mountain Facts:  Whiteface Mountain, according to its website, has the greatest vertical drop (over 3,000 feet) east of the Rocky Mountains.  The base elevation starts at 1,220 feet and rises to 4,867 feet.  There are 86 trails, rated from beginner to expert.  The park totals 284 ski-able acres, plus 53 acres of tree-skiing and 22 miles of trails to ski and ride.  Amenities include a nursery, ski schools, and equipment rental.
