Exploring the Hamptons: Westhampton
Located on the south shore of Long Island and about 80 miles east of Manhattan, welcome to Westhampton - one of the Hamptons of summer home fame. Like Southampton and Easthampton, Westhampton includes several distinct villages. Some of these - such as Quogue and Westhampton Beach - are featured as vacation rental spaces in their own right on this site.
A vacation rental in the Westhampton area is a good way to explore the Hamptons in general. You can also extend your trip 44 miles east to Montauk, the easternmost point in New York State, just for the fun of it.
Getting Here: Long Island MacArthur Airport is 25 miles to the west; New York-bound flights via LaGuardia and JFK are approximately 65 miles west as well.
What to Visit: There are so few white sand beaches to enjoy, so make time for the one at Dune Road’s in Westhampton Beach. Westhampton Dunes is another little village, but with a twist - it is entirely contained on one of the slim barrier islands that line the coast. Finally, visit Quogue to see some wildlife at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge, then head back to Westhampton Beach for the thriving art scene.
