Westchester: All That and Music, Too
Fans of the Law and Order series on TV may think they know all about Westchester: it’s the place, they were told in episode after episode, where the rich are - especially the “old money” rich. But you don’t have to be a fifth-generation millionaire to get a taste of one of New York’s most prestigious counties: you can book a vacation rental and have a memorable stay.
Westchester County is immediately north of New York City; it shares a boundary with the borough of the Bronx. In keeping with the tradition of old money, the county is home to, not just mansions, but verifiable castles.
Aside from grand old houses, there’s a strong historical legacy in this area, most especially for the Revolutionary War times, which multiple historical sites commemorate.
A stay at a vacation rental in Westchester just wouldn’t be complete without sampling some of the area’s art offerings. These range from art galleries to sculpture gardens. It could be argued that some buildings (such as the Rosen House at Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in Katonah) are works of art in themselves. Of course, you’ll need to see it for yourself to judge, so come visit Westchester County!
