Make Mine Manhattan: Upper West Side Vacation Rentals
You might think that Manhattans Upper West Side would be the polar opposite of the Upper East Side - as in, the distance from east to west. But not really. Both are expensive pieces of real estate. And while you’ll find a plethora of prominent museums on the Upper East Side, a vacation rental on the Upper West Side will put you near to some of the world’s top live music spaces.
Manhattan Neighborhood Search: Upper West Side
The Upper West Side of Manhattan extends from the Hudson River to Central Park West and from 59th Street to 110th Street. (Leave out Columbus Circle; that’s a destination unto itself and the subject of another page.) Some carry the northern border as far north as 125th, Morningside Heights territory, but that’s disputed.
Upper West Side Attractions
While a vacation rental on the Upper West Side is considered to be a bit more residential and a bit less of a bait for tourists than other parts of Manhattan, it’s by no means a cultural desert. The nightlife may not be as active as some of the hipper parts of Manhattan, but there’s much to be done. The area’s brownstones attract architecture fans, while lovers of classical music can glory in Lincoln Center, home of Alice Tully Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, and the Metropolitan Opera. Even the food is haute, but check out the gourmet food stores anyways and try something new.
