Swan Lake Vacation Rentals

Aside from being the name of a ballet, Swan Lake is the name of a hamlet in the New York town of Liberty.  Liberty now covers about 85 square miles; in the past, it also took in parts of the current towns of Callicoon and Fremont.  If you have a New York map handy, you can use it to see the double draw of the Swan Lake area:  the Delaware River Valley and the Catskills.

Technically speaking, Swan Lake isn’t in the Delaware River Valley, but it’s near enough (20 miles east of Callicoon and the Delaware River) to make it a pleasant day trip.  A vacation house or cottage rental can be a great home base for vacations based on fishing, skiing, hiking, or more.

Where:  Swan Lake is approximately one hour from Newburgh’s Stewart International Airport and two hours from Binghamton Airport.  It’s also about 110 miles north of New York City.

What to Do:  Situated as it is on the borders of two famously tourist-friendly regions, booking a vacation home for rent in the Swan Lake area will provide you with a starting point for many nature-driven vacations.  Aside from downhill skiing, you can make use of the Catskill Park to hike, snowmobile, snowboard, and cross-country ski.
