Time to choose a vacation rental home (or rental villa, cottage, or apartment) for your northern New York getaway!  As you have seen from browsing this site, there are literally dozens for you to choose from.  Why should the hamlet of South Colton come into the picture?

What and Where:  South Colton is part of the larger town of Colton, in St. Lawrence County, New York.  This is the county that bills itself as the place where the mountains meet the St Lawrence River, so that should give you a fairly good idea of the naturally beautiful surroundings you’re likely to encounter. 

South Colton has a plethora of waterways.  You’ll find Warm Brook Flow, South Colton Reservoir, Five Falls Reservoir, and Rainbow Falls reservoir within a short drive.  Snow Bowl State Forest and Higley Flow State Park highlight the natural wonder of the area.

In keeping with the mountain and river theme, Ogdensburg and the St Lawrence River are just 35 miles to the west; the Adirondack State Park is even closer, at 21 miles east.  A bit further away, you can visit the Thousand Islands region at Alexandra Bay (70 miles west), Plattsburgh and Lake Champlain (95 miles east) or go international and visit Ottawa, Ontario (97 miles north).
