Vacation Rental Homes in Schroon Lake, New York

Are you looking for the right place to spend your vacation, a place that combines scenic beauty with lots of outdoor fun?  Consider a vacation home rental in the Schroon Lake area.

What:  Schroon Lake is the name of a town in upstate New York; it’s also a sizeable Adirondack Lake from which the town draws its name.  Why Schroon?  Nobody’s really sure.

Where:  Schroon Lake is about 70 miles south of Plattsburgh, a city on the shores of Lake Champlain.  You could also consider it as 94 miles north of Albany.  The well-known vacation destination of Saratoga Springs is 60 miles south.  The Vermont state line crosses though Lake Champlain, so a side trip to Vermont is not out of the question - expect to drive less than 50 miles.

What to Do:  Schroon Lake attracted well-healed vacationers in the heyday of Adirondack tourism, and there’s plenty of history within the township borders.  Thanks to its Adirondack setting, you can also grab the chance to downhill ski or cross-country ski; the municipal golf course also doubles as a beginner’s ski center in the winter.  More experienced skiers will enjoy the challenges offered at nearby Gore Mountain.
