Lake Ontario Area Vacation Rentals in Pulaski
On the southeastern shores of lake Ontario, Pulaski is a village with a lot of character and even more reasons to plan a visit. Whether you#‘re into fishing - and Lake Ontario can provide some whopping big fish to eat or mount on your mantle, whichever you prefer most - or into winter sports, a vacation rental in the Pulaski area will be a great home base.
Pulaski is one of several communities in the United States that takes its name from a Polish hero of the American Revolutionary War. In this case, Pulaski doesn’t date back to pre-Revolutionary War times, as do many other New York towns. But the Pulaski historical district did make it on to the National Register of Historical Places, so amateur historians will feel free to visit.
Where Pulaski really shines, though, is in the sporting arena. With the Salmon River flowing though its borders and Lake Ontario as a next door neighbor, the fishing (and ice fishing) is great. And thanks to lake effect snow, winter isn’t a dead season in terms of tourism - the Pulaski area hosts a Winter Carnival and a Sled Dog competition.
A vacation rental cottage in Pulaski will put you about 40 miles north of Syracuse and 55 miles south of Cape Vincent and the Thousand Islands region. Oneida Lake is about 25 miles to the south.
