The Niagara region is a premiere destination for everyone from honeymooners to senior citizens to families with young kids. The city of Niagara Falls gets you right in the heart of things.

Where:  Niagara Falls is located on the border of New York State; just across the Niagara River is the city of Niagara Falls, Ontario.  As you might expect from the name, it is home to that fantastic display of water and rock known simply as “the Falls”.  It’s about 20 miles north of Buffalo and 1.5 hours west of Rochester.  Although Niagara Falls is almost due south of Toronto, Ontario, it takes a curving two hours via the shores of Lake Erie to reach that city by car.

There are two airports that serve this area:  Niagara Falls International Airport accepts a few carriers; if you’re looking for major airlines like Delta, check out Buffalo Niagara International Airport in Cheektowaga, 26 miles to the south.

What to Do:  This is the region of Niagara Falls State Park, with its illuminated falls, fireworks, and boat tours.  It’s also home to Hyde Park, where you can golf, play bocce or tennis, and watch professional baseball at Sal Maglie Stadium.
