Have A Cool Time in Millerton

Millerton’s website proclaims itself to be “one of the ten coolest small towns in America”.  I guess you’d have to visit most of all the other small towns in America to see if you agree with this statement, but whichever way you’d cast your vote, Millerton does have plenty to offer.

Millerton strives to keep its Uber-American Main Street feel intact, with a twist.  The twist is the fresh, locally roasted coffee, the art glass pieces that you can watch being crafted, the vintage clothing shops, and the fine art galleries. 

Another local highlight is the Harlem Valley Rail Trail, fifteen miles of paved pathway for biking, hiking, or strolling.  For a slightly wilder feel, check out the Taconic State Park.

Found among a landscape favored by rolling hills, mountains, fields and streams, Millerton is two hours north of New York City.  It’s also half an hour to Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Hudson River via the town of Hudson, New York.  Albany International Airport, the nearest major air travel hub, is an hour and a half away.
