Meet Middleburgh

With a name like Middleburgh, one wonders what exactly the town is in the middle of.  Middleburgh is both a town and a village within the town.  In some ways, Middleburgh was in the middle of the American Revolutionary War; it’s nickname was “the Breadbasket of the Revolution”.

Middleburgh is a historical spot for a vacation rental home; it’s also a convenient one in many ways, being more or less in the midway between Albany (43 miles to the east), Windham Ski Center (30 miles to the south) and Cooperstown (42 miles to the west, home of the Baseball Hall of Home and Glimmerglass Opera Festival).

If your idea of a successful vacation rental includes unspoiled nature, the Burnt-Rossman Hills State Forest is only 16 miles away.  If town festivals are more your style, there is a plateful of them, particularly in the summer and early fall.  You’ll find the Strawberry Festival, the Craft Fair, the Village-Wide Garage Sale, and the Fall Harvest Parade in Middleburgh.  The village is also celebrating its 300th anniversary on August 3-5, 2012.

At the risk of a cheap pun, one can point out that only in Middleburgh can you both get away from it all and still be in the middle of it all.
