The Adirondack Lakes: Lake Bonaparte

Sometimes the need to get away from it all trumps every other consideration.  While it might be possible for some to de-stress at a crowded beach or a packed luxury store, for others, only pure nature will do.

If you’re one of the latter group, a vacation rental in the Adirondacks may be your ticket to relaxation.  You can do everything this mountain chain is famous for:  skiing, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, hiking.  Or you can kick back, relax, and unwind, either by admiring the view from your front porch or by snoozing in an armchair.  Hey, it’s your vacation, right?

Lake Bonaparte is a bit east of the town of Harrisville and a bit south of Bonaparte’s Cave State Forest.  Technically, it’s part of the town of Diana and has a little hamlet (named Lake Bonaparte) on its south shore.  It’s much closer to Ottawa, Ontario (115 miles to the north) than it is to Albany (176 miles south) or New York City (325 miles south).

If you’re looking for those luxury stores, you probably won’t find them on the shores of Lake Bonaparte.  Instead, look forward to a relaxing time at your vacation rental.
