Searching for a vacation rental in New York State isn’t hard - you’re likely to find multiple sites and dozens of available homes and apartments in your budget range. You know by now, that New York offers a complete palette of mountains, lakes, and rivers, plus the unending attractions of New York City. Along the coast, you’ll even find beaches and surfing, although these may not make your top ten list of obvious reasons to visit New York.
What do you do, though, if you want a bit of this and a bit of that? Fortunately, New York has plenty of towns that offer multiple reasons to rent a vacation house in the area. Take Jeffersonville. It’s on the shores of Lake Jefferson, set against a backdrop of rolling hills that eventually swell into the Catskill Mountains. The Delaware River, with its naturally beautiful valley surroundings, is about ten miles to the west. The river is also the state line between New York and Pennsylvania.
In other words, within the Jeffersonville area, there’s hiking, skiing (if you’re willing to drive to the Catskills; major peaks start about 40 miles to the east), fishing, boating on the lake, canoeing on the river, bird watching, and just about any other outdoor activity available except surfing.
