Greenwood Lake is a town that just seems to be so lucky to be where it is.  First of all, there’s the setting on the northern fork of Greenwood Lake, a splendid and picturesque body of water.  Part of this lake also forms a bit of the New Jersey border, and New York City is only 50 miles away.

Greenwood Lake is in Orange county (no, not that Orange County - wrong coast entirely), and the residents of this town are proud of it.  In addition to the lake and lake activities, there’s also a fair amount of hiking in the area.  The best-known venue is the local section Appalachian Trail.  The trail itself runs from Georgia to Maine; we think this area is a good introduction, however, and a major plus for vacation rental seekers who enjoy the outdoors!
