Introducing the Greater Niagara Area

Niagara needs no introduction, but we’ll give it one anyway:  it’s a waterfall, rather in the same way that the Empire State Building is a city skyscraper.

You know about Niagara Falls already.  A product of the waters of the Great Lakes and 12,000 years of geologic forces, Niagara Falls is fed by the Niagara River (itself not technically a river, but a strait).  The Falls straddle the border between the United States and Canada, with each side having its own fans.  There are three Niagara Falls:  American Falls, Horseshoe Falls, and Bridal Vail Falls.  The State Park is the oldest in the US, and if you are so inclined, you can get a boat tour to see the falls as close as a sane person would care to.

If you’re looking for a vacation rental in the greater Niagara area, you’ll want to check out the city of Niagara Falls itself, plus nearby towns like Tonawanda, Lewiston, Kenmore, and Williamsville.  Aside from gawking as hundreds of gallons of water rush downstream every minute, you can plan your vacation rental around other activities too.  These include the boat tours mentioned above, plus shopping, dining, and golf.  The Niagara region is also home to Ice Wine, made from local grapes kissed by the chilly weather, so you can also explore the wine trail.
