The whole world knows New York's Financial District.  While a vacation rental here may seem a bit like spending your R&R time in your employer's corporate headquarters, there's much more going on here than just high finance.

Manhattan Neighborhood Search:  Where is the Financial District?

The Financial District is in lower Manhattan.  Roughly speaking, it's boundaries are Washington Street to South Street and Fulton Street to Battery Park City.  While Wall Street is often synonymous with the Financial District, it's really only one of the streets in the area.  Other big-name streets include Broad Street, John Street, Fulton Street, and Nassau Street.

Another way of looking at the Financial District is that it sits between the Hudson River and the East River.

Financial District Attractions

The number one reason that people think of the Financial District is also the most poignant: it was the former site of the World Trade Center.  A memorial now stands in the place of the ruined Twin Towers.

In times past, this area of New York was a major political hotspot.  Witness Federal Hall, which still stands today.  Battery Park is nearby, although slightly outside of the district.  And ticker tape parades usually start from Bowling Green.  All in all, it's a great if unexpected place for a vacation rental.
