Edwards, New York: Little Town, Lots to Offer
Edwards, New York is a little town - just over 1,000 inhabitants - but it is big enough to have an art council and an opera house. (According to the website, though, the opera house focuses less on opera and more on regional performances; this is either good or bad, depending on your musical taste.)
It’s not a well-known place. In fact, it’s just a bit north of New York’s famous Finger Lakes region and not quite on the shores of Lake Ontario, a sixty-mile trek west. Type Edwards into a popular map program and you’re just as likely to get an address in New York City, 346 miles to the south, as you are to hit the actual town.
So what’s the draw to Edwards? Like many northern New York town, lots of it is based on location. So if you’re looking for a vacation rental for fishing or other lake activities, you can do that from one of Edwards’ local lakes as well as from Lake Ontario or Lake Oneida. If a vacation rental for skiing appeals to you, the Edwards section of the Adirondack State Park is just 4 miles down the road. And if you’d just like to relax away from it all, a vacation rental in Edwards or one of the other nearby communities can do that as well.
