Fire Island Destinations:  Davis Park Vacation Rentals

Fire Island has come a long way.  From its earlier days as a whaling station to its current status as summer vacation spot extraordinaire, Fire Island manages to encompass both past history and current good times.  Each of Fire Island’s towns and villages are a little different; Davis Park makes a great stop off point for Fire Island National Seashore, but you can see any of Fire Island’s attractions from you vacation rental here.

What and Where:  Davis Park is on the eastern end of Fire Island.  It’s next door neighbor is Fire Island National Seashore.  (In fact, Davis Park is within the National Seashore’s boundaries).  The community of Fire Island Pines is abut 4 miles to the west.

Davis Park is about 90 minutes from Manhattan.

Getting There:  Very few cars are permitted in Davis Park, so plan on leaving yours on Long Island.  You can drive to the ferry at Patchogue, or use Long Island Rail Road to get there.  From Patchogue, take the ferry over to Davis Park.
