Unlike Caroga Lake, Chazy Lake and the town of Chazy, New York are to distinctly separate areas - separate by about 35 miles of New York roads, to be exact. In fact, the town of Chazy is actually on the shores of Lake Champlain.
Chazy Lake, in its mountainous setting to the west, is another of those Adirondack spots that seem to offer every possible variety of outdoor scenery except the flat and desert variants. It’s a bit east of Chateaugay Lake, so vacationers who are active fishers won’t need to stint themselves. (Hint: Remember to comply with New York hunting and fishing rules and get yourself a license first.)
Also in the neighborhood is Lyon Mountain, in case you feel like a bit of skiing when the weather cooperates. In fact, consider a vacation rental in the Chazy Lake area. Your vacation rental can serve as a home base to a number of activities, whether you prefer the great outdoors or the great indoors. Plattsburgh, the region’s biggest city, is situated on the shores of Lake Champlain a few miles south of Chazy (the town). It’s about 20 miles from Chazy Lake. If you’re feeling international, the Canadian border is only 25 miles away, and Montreal is an 85-mile, two-hour drive north.
