Lake Ontario Area Vacation Rentals in Barker

Forget that there are larger Great Lakes than Lake Ontario - at almost 200 miles long and with a combined shoreline of over 700 miles including islands, it#'s quite big enough to be going on with.  As the anchor for Niagara Falls, the Finger Lakes, and the start of the St. Lawrence River and the Thousand Islands region, it#'s also a major player in the vacation rental arena.

Barker is much closer to the Niagara side of things - after all, the village is located in Niagara County.  It#'s about an hour northeast of Buffalo and 40 miles east of Niagara Falls.  While you probably won#‘t want to make this town your home base for a Finger Lakes vacation rental, you can certainly make a few excursions into the area; Barker is only 60 miles west of Rochester and 90 minutes#' drive to the heart of the Finger Lakes.

However, you don#'t need to leave the Barker neighborhood to enjoy the house or cabin you’ve rented.  The village is home to Golden Hill State Park, which includes the historic 30 Mile Point Light.  The State Park offers facilities for fishing, hiking, picnicking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and hunting.  You can also take tours of the lighthouse.  There are also a cluster of wineries in the area.  Vacation rentals in Barker are a great option for groups of all sizes and interests.
